She’s a customer of ours (look at those beautiful Cleanfire Pacific bags in the background of her picture!) and she created an incredible Wood Pallet Christmas Tree decor project. She was kind enough to share her how-to with us, so we could share it with you!

Materials:

Wood Pallet

Marker

2×4 Board (or anything with a long straight edge)

Circular Saw

Hammer or Pry Bar

Sandpaper (optional)

Paint and Decorations

Directions:

Lay the wood pallet flat on the floor, with the boards going horizontal. Measure to find the center at the top end of the pallet, and measure/mark 2 inches to the left and to the right of your center. The top of Irene’s pictured pallet tree is 4 inches wide, so it’s not a perfect point.

Use your 2×4, or any long straight edge, and trace a line from your top right 2 inch mark to the bottom right corner. Repeat this step for the left side.

Carefully cut along your guides with a circular saw, ONLY if you are familiar with this tool and have experience. Please do not operate any power tools unless you’re properly equipped to do so.

Flip your now triangular wood pallet over, and carefully remove any boards that are still attached with your pry bar or hammer. Sand down rough edges if desired. This is probably a good step to include if your pallet tree will be indoors with young ones or pets. If it’s an outside decoration, sanding isn’t really necessary.

Paint the boards green, or whatever you desire, and let dry. Here’s the fun part – decorate in your own personal style! Paint or stick on a message like Irene, or keep it simple with garlands and ornaments! This would be a great time to let the kids in on the fun too.

Do you have any repurposing projects to share?
