Wet, White, and Wild Weather According to the Farmers’ Almanac 2024 – 25 Weather Forecast

According to the new Farmers’ Almanac Extended Winter Forecast, a cold, wet, windy winter is ahead for most locations across the country. A La Nina effect is likely to develop and hold on through the winter season as it cools the ocean’s surface in the central and eastern Pacific.

The experts at Farmers’ Almanac are warning us to brace for a “wet winter whirlwind,” and we know our wood pellets are one surefire solution to woeful weather.

The coldest seasonal temps are likely at the end of January into early February thanks to the effects of frigid Arctic air, particularly in the Northern Plains. The cold air will also bring heavy, windy snow showers to the Great Lakes and areas to their east.

For our wood pellet stove proponents in the New England area and in the northeast, you’re looking at frequent storms, above-average winter precipitation, and temps that fluctuate between normal and above-average. Mountainous areas will see the most snow, so get your skis and boards ready, as well as ensuring you’ve got an ample supply of wood pellets to warm up after! Coastal areas will see sleet and rain, especially along the I-95 corridor.

Farmers Almanac forecasters have also red-flagged the end January for the entire eastern half of the US, because of “a very active storm track that we expect will deliver frequent bouts of heavy precipitation, as well as strong and gusty winds. We would especially highlight the time frames from January 20 to 23 and 24 to 27, which could mean copious amounts of snow, rain, sleet, and ice (depending on where you live).”

Mums, gourds, rakes, and leaf-blowers

When autumnal staples are hitting shelves and decorating doorsteps, it’s time to get your heating pellets.

If rakes have replaced beach toys and your local grocery store has a tasteful display of gourds near the produce section, and mums are abound, that is a good sign that the cold is coming, and to order your fuel now.

Back-to-school Supplies

Back-to-School Supplies

Your local everything store has a huge rainbow-colored display of markers, pencils, paper, and other items back-to-schoolers can’t live without. Your kids groan each time they see it, and maybe you’re just a tad bit excited at the thought of having some routine back in your world. Even if the supplies aren’t on full display, they’re likely featured on ads filling your mailbox. When back to school looms, you definitely need to add (and then check off) ordering wood pellets to your list.

Binge Worthy TV and Sports Are Back

Binge Worthy TV and Sports Are Back

Your favorite TV shows or series were on hiatus since the spring, but they’re coming back! Network TV is airing teasers about the upcoming episodes, and you’re thinking about screen time instead of outdoor time.

New professional and college football seasons are also upon us, and you can’t escape promotional commercials if you try.

Once your favorite fall shows have a premiere date, and you know what network will air your football team’s opening game, ordering fuel should be next on your to-do list.

Pumpkin Flavor

 Pumpkin Flavor

The ubiquitous fall flavor is back. Whether you love or hate pumpkin spice, it’s an excellent indicator that the weather is going to turn sooner than later. As soon as you see pumpkin spice everything at your favorite cafĂ© or in grocery stores, you know the time has come for your annual pellet order.

We don’t offer pumpkin spice wood pellets, but may we suggest a pumpkin spice candle in a safe-to-light spot in your home?

Of everything on your fall to-do list, ordering pellets might be the simplest. Order online, or call and speak to a fuel expert at 1-800-735-5387.
